Analyzing Hay and Feeds

The basic Dairy One Forage Lab tests I request for most forages are 
  • Forage NIR ($16)
  • Wet Chemistry Minerals  ($10)
  • Nitrates ($6) 
  • Total $32.
Selenium can be added for and additional $35 and chromium for $6 (these are not listed on the Dairy One submittal form).
I also like to add sulfur and chloride levels if not included in the test package you select.

In some circumstances, it may be preferable to run wet chemistry instead of NIR tests.  See Forage Tests.pdf  below for available packages from Dairy One and Equi-Analytical.
